GSFC Work Force Metrics

This section provides metrics by skill group, ethnicity, gender, and Directorate for:

Promotions  FY05 FY06 FY07 FY08 FY09
Hires, Losses, Awards FY05 FY06 FY07 FY08
Senior, Supervisory and Skill Group On-Board Counts FY05 FY06 FY07 FY08 FY09
Average Time In Grade (TIG) FY05   FY07

When viewing the various charts, keep in mind the context of the population for each grouping of data. For example, if you wanted to compare the promotion rate of female engineers and male engineers, you would calculate the number of female engineer promotions (12) as a percent of the female engineers onboard at the beginning of the FY (279). You would then compare that to the number of male engineer promotions (41) as a percent of the male engineers onboard at the beginning of the FY (1236). The promotion rates you would then be comparing are 4% for female engineers and 3% for male engineers.

Promotion Metrics charts will be updated twice a year.  The November update will capture the entire prior fiscal year and the April update will capture the past 6 months of the current fiscal year. All other charts will be updated at the end of the current fiscal year, unless the amount of activity warrants an update after 6 months.
